GSAT IS SO SMART. N53 is the S-Band. N53 doesn't need to be duplexed. Look at N53 in the Wikipedia chart, linked below, under “Frequencies.” GSAT is also going to use the S-band for driverless cars. I knew that I was missing something. This all makes sense. They're going to use the S-band to be independent of the C-band demand.
