Big Money's arriving in anticipation of that $1,4000 check from Washington. LOLOL!

He apparently thinks BRK at ~$240 is getting too costly and a third, more affordable stock class, is needed for the unwashed masses with their newfangled day trading apps.

Buffett has often mentioned that he and most of his shareholders were content with the old single class -- "Class A" -- structure, but the acquisition of the BNSF for stock would have required dispersing a lot of cash for fractional shares. Hence, in 1996 class B was born.

Buffett also didn't want to see the creation of single stock mutual funds to make BRK affordable to the masses. Such funds would have been very inefficient for their indirect investors. Buffett hates inefficiency.

If the current class B shares become too costly many years from now, BRK would simply split those. While Buffett has never said so, you can tell he disdains the masses of shareholders with their short term flipper mentality. Now with the current events on Reddit, the last thing he wants are hordes of Robinhood addicts descending on Omaha every spring.
