There's some kind of dark market for platinum. Probably everything, actually. I remember back in 2014 when the platinum miners went on strike, there were months of supply mysteriously materializing out of phantom warehouses to fill that void. That's how they broke the strike if I recall. That, the South African courts, and a massacre or two.
