Its just market manipulation. Gamestop shine a light on how prolific the market manipulation is. There is going to be a crackdown on the Reddit board. I know the Reddit board members will say that the hedge funds manipulated the market first with the short selling.

The hedge funds are not going to end on the wrong side of this and I think we will see a crackdown on message boards (and members) that try to artificially inflate the price of a stock through coordination.

There was no reason for the massive buy in on the Gamestop stock except to artificially manipulate the market to create a short squeeze just like there is no reason to buy GEGI.
