companies that go dark must have fewer than 300 registered shareholders (an SEC rule).
I have also read that if a company's shareholders float above 300, the SEC can force them to file earning statements. Maybe the company is fighting to keep the number of shareholders below 300? Does anyone else have any ideas or info? This could be fun.
