how long does antibody protection last

with current vaccines without t-cell protection,
30- 60 days, maybe six months.
what, 40 % don't like needles, those are the people
a pill will appeal to. IMO.

they have a shot at being a cocktail drug, IMO.
best, know you went short. good luck.

1) The 3 approved vaccines as well as two others that just released data showed very good to excellent efficacy. The metric is levels of antibodies stimulated. So far the data says high antibody levels last at least 6 months. There are memory B-cells just like there are memory T-cells so a new exposure to antigen will generate a robust upregulation of antibodies, and therefore a protective response. Does T-cell response provide as good or better protection against Covid-19 than IgG response? Nobody knows, and that is VXRT's problem, for now. By the way, what makes you think there is no T-cell response generated by other Covid-19 vaccines? I haven't read and data one way or another.

2) Yes a lot of people don't like needles, so that is where VXRT has an edge, well that and room temperature storage. However, VXRT has to spend a lot of time and money to get to the point where they can show they have a viable product. Could they get there? Sure, it is possible. However, time isn't on the side of VXRT side as J&J and NVAX will likely get their vaccines approved soon. Many others are on their way too.

3) I have never shorted a stock in my life, and sure as hell won't start with VXRT. I have never even played with options either. I just buy shares of a stock then depending on the data, buy more, hold or sell. With VXRT, I liked the platform, and the fact they had some promising data with their influenza vaccine and felt fortunate to get in at $5 a few months ago.

When VXRT stock started rising I heeded Buffett's maxim, be greedy when others are fearful and fearful when others are greedy. The failure to release their primate data made me a bit nervous. I sold 40% of my shares at $12.30 and said so at the time on this board. I was happy when the price jumped to over $24 so sold another 10% at $23.20, which I posted on the Biotech Values board at the time as you well know. That reduced my holdings to 50% of my original but I had all my initial investment back and along with 50% profit. I learned the hard way a long time ago that preservation of capital is the key to investing. When I saw the stock crater and read why, I sold the rest that first day at $11.20 locking me in at 150% gain. I did so because I expected VXRT to keep falling and it has.

You sound defensive more than realistic. Is VXRT a scam and finished? No! I may even get back in later on but it is dead money for a while, and may drop lower. If it gets well under $5 again I might nibble a bit.
