"Why Sorrento’s SP will be in the triple digits THIS YEAR.
Hear me out first folks. I’m not a Moderna hater (so Moderna investor’s please control yourselves), but let’s do some very simple comparisons of things we know.
Moderna #’s
-Shares outstanding 395.71M
-Public float 326.21M
-Short interest 24.8M
-Market cap 68.52B
-SP $174.20
-EPS -$1.62
-Institutional & Mutual Fund share % as per Yahoo 52.06%
Sorrento’s #’s
-Shares outstanding 262.94M
-Public float 226.99M
-Short interest 70.47M
-Market cap 3.33B
-SP $12.83
-EPS -$1.4B
-Institutional & Mutual Fund share % as per Yahoo 27.97%
A couple of things stand out right away, but let’s proceed further.
Moderna currently has no FDA approved drugs, and 1 EUA approval for its coronavirus vaccine worth up to 8B if the U.S. government takes up all its options.
Sorrento currently has no FDA or EUA drugs approved, BUT 2 BLOCKBUSTER drugs that will receive approval sometime this year or 1sr quarter next year. Abivertinib with its multiple indications (Covid, NSCLC, and several others with various trial stages) 10B and SP102 with estimated 6B yearly revenue. Except for assuming Abivertinib covid will receive EUA, I have not even included RTX, GeneMab, shares in various other companies, etc. into my calculations.
So WHY is there are a big difference between the two companies SP’s?
Easily explained. Short interest. The Hedge Funds and Shorts bet big early last year that Sorrento wouldn’t get to this point in time where Sorrento is on the cusp of having 2 FDA approvals and several possible EUA’s. The Hedge Funds are in to deeply. They bet heavily, and threw everything, but the kitchen sink to halt progress and good PR. From paid hit pieces, to bots, and paid lackeys on the message boards. There was a constant stream which was designed to get you to sell your shares. Plus their algorithm’s that that would continually push the SP down from were it should be. They made Billions off this strategy.
GUESS who was steadily upping their shares throughout? The institutions and mutual funds. They benefited from the hedge fund strategy, and were able to increase their shares at much lower prices. THEY INCREASED their shares through the tumult.
GUESS what happens to the Hedge Funds, Shorts, and SP when the EUA’s, Approvals, government contracts, etc. start rolling in? BOOM!!
Oh one last thing as per shareholders, NIH, AstraZeneca, and Merck all currently or have had major shares in Moderna. Ji stirred Sorrento to this point in time without giving away the ship. The best time to bargain is when you have the upper hand. SO do you think the SP, which the analyst are slowly jumping on ship with buy ratings, is still just worth $25-35?"
