CCIHY can not ASSIGN a new clearinghouse. They have to negotiate with a bank etc. to so so and pay them for it. This will take time.
I would hope they do that, but I doubt the leaders of the Chinese company really care much about what happens to US ADR holders.
The problem is that I don't think we can hold on to ADRs assuming they will be transferred to a successor clearing house. Form everything I have read, they will be liquidated.
I got something today from the reorganizations group a Schwab (my broker). I am still trying to figure out what my choices are but they don't look attractive at first glance.
If I could afford to buy all of them, I would not need to buy any of them and I sure wouldn't be spending time on the message boards!
