I was just telling my son that I looked back in my stock records and noticed that I had purchased 100 shares of AMZN back in 1999 for ~$50/share
($5,000) and traded them for a small profit that same year. Had I held them (put them away and forget about it), those 100 shares would have now been 1,200 shares because of 3 splits, and at $3,500/share (likely pps after Feb 2 earnings release) that would have been $4.2 million. Ugh.

So how does that relate to NIO? NIO is still in its infancy. Will it amass the kind of increase I just showed for AMZN, not likely (AMZN sells lots of things to lots of people; car buyers are fewer). But there is no reason that some future price can't be multiples of what it currently is. So, buy some NIO, leave it alone, and look back at it in 10 years or more, either for your retirement or a nice gift to leave your kids. If TESLA can be ~$900/share ($4500/share, pre-split), then there's no reason NIO can't be 1/10th of that ($450/share) at a point where they get their own plants and be selling worldwide like Hundai.
