Don't understand what happened that you were put on hold so long. Perhaps it had something to do with TDA merging with Charles Schwab. My TDA office recently closed and moved into the Schwab office. It may be a case of that office being understaffed with the merger. I hope I like the Schwab trading platform better than the one TDA has.

If someone tries to convince you to buy a stock they usually have a personal agenda to do so. Not because they are concerned about you making money but about convincing you to buy so they can make money. Same is true for those yelling sell.
