Radium in soft drinks was in the 1920’s...100 years ago. Using radioactive isotopes is not some dark science shrouded in mystery. Having worked in a very busy Nuclear Medicine pharmacy for 19 years, I can assure you, that the use of radioactive isotopes is more common that you know, especially in cancer treatments.
