NOTICE OF INFORMATIONAL WORKSHOP & PUBLIC COMMENT HEARING ON A MEDICAL WASTE MANAGEMENT FACILITY LICENSE
January 11, 2021
In accordance with 23-19.12 of the Rhode Island General Laws, the Department of Environmental management (“Department”) announces its intent to issue a new license to Medrecycler-RI, Inc. at 1600 Division Road, West Warwick, Rhode Island to treat medical waste.
A public informational workshop on this facility’s license application will be held on Zoom at the link below on January 25th at 4PM.

Representatives of the Department will be available to discuss the proposed facility, the type and quantity of wastes to be processed, a summary for the basis of the draft license, proposed conditions to be placed on the license, and a description of the procedures for reaching a final decision on the license application. The discussion of administrative procedures shall also include the beginning and ending period for public comment, the address where comments will be received, information on the public comment hearing, the procedures by which the public may participate in the final decision, and the contact person for further information. The application can be viewed at http://www.dem.ri.gov/programs/wastemanagement/. Additional draft documents may also be reviewed, upon appointment, at the following address:

The formal public comment hearing will be held for the license application on zoom at 4:00 PM on Monday, March 15, 2021 at the following link:

After the public hearing, the Department will continue to accept written comments from all

interested parties on the application for an additional thirty (30) days following the close of the hearing (until April 14, 2021), at the following address:
