Why is Merck getting funding from the U.S. government instead of CytoDyn? Leronlimab is further along in its clinical trial than Merck's drug.

The drug regulatory agencies don’t give out money for drug development. OWS is a government effort to bring effective, safe vaccines and therapeutics to the country for responding to the pandemic. Supported agents are chosen by a rigorous scientific process.

I am recused from FDA matters concerning COVID therapeutics because I working on them at OWS.

She is well aware of leronlimab, but it's not only up to her. The FDA will have no choice but to approve LL if the clinical data shows efficacy.
