"There's no real volume and the insiders have a boatload of shares".

(IMO), What you just identified is possibly, the phase of a stock.

(1). During an "accumulation" phase (the first phase), stocks are being accumulated.

(2). During a "mark up" phase (the second phase), the price will start moving upward, but the volume is not always in lockstep (higher volumes). This still could be a "shake out" mode moving upward to the topping phase.

(3). The "topping phase or the "TOP" could be where the insiders take profits, hence: Topping out or distribution. (We've all seen this action (patterns) time and time again. It happens for every stock).

(4). After the stock reaches and goes through it's "top phase" it begins to renter an accumulation phase all over again. (But not always).

The stock price may then start its accumulation phase again at the stocks current price levels or the stock price can go to a lower level of accumulation. Sometimes the stock may go completely out.

I don't know who or what is responsible for these types of cycles, but what I do know, is they are what they are, and act the same way for almost every stocks life span.

So, the moral of the story is that "PATTERNS" in a stocks movement(s) can tell a story if notes are taken, and it's long term chart patterns are watched.

Some will argue with me, but you cannot argue with the patterns of a long term stock price chart ; )

Remember what Rod said; "EVERY PICTURE TELLS A STORY".

GOOD LUCK TO ALL. "HOPE YOU MAKE A BOATLOAD OF MONEY IN THE STOCK MARKET".
