Well the "criminal" I was referring to was not Mnuchin. And while his actions are inexcusable and flat out wrong by continuing the sweep, they are merely following the current law as it pertains to the NWS. Why won't he undo it? Great question and I wish I knew. My only theory is that he remains hopeful that continuing the NWS could have resulted in the need for another significant Treasury Draw for the twins, which would enable him (and Congress for that matter) to say "told you the GSE's were a systemic risk to taxpayers" and give them an easy path to sunset the GSE's and give secondary markets to WS and TBTF
