You are right... it is worded that way... now here is my take on the two reasons it’s worded that way

#1. They worded it that way to make their inclusion sound BIGGER than what it is (this I don’t think is likely)

#2. They worded it that way because they can’t come right out and say (yet) they were asked to participate.
