I've actually got three of them. One is a princess style and the other is a black desk phone that's an even older style than the one in the picture. The one in the pic is the only one hooked up though.

You can definitely receive land line calls on them. But your local company has to still support 'pulse' in order to be able to make outgoing calls. And that probably varies with localities.
