The company cannot refute the shorters claims. That would be illegal.

Insiders have just dumped 70 million shares on the market, it is clearly illegal for anyone, especially insiders, to dump shares with the one hand while praising the stock with the other.

In time, when insider sales have clearly been reported, they will then be able to come to the companies defense. But right now, having just sold 2 billion in stock to retail buyers and pocketing the money - no way.
