There are two potential uses here. One is the person who wants to live disconnected from the grid. The other is the person who wants a back up for when the grid goes down. As I mentioned earlier, here in California they have become very quick to cut off the power when fire danger is high. I personally know someone who was left in the dark for an extended period of time. So I was wondering if the zinc8 cell could be part of a solution. But now that I think of it, people can get diesel generators pretty cheaply, so maybe there isn't really a need to fill. <br /> <br /> This all makes me wonder about the project in Vancouver - what exactly is the benefit that the cell is supposed to bring to that household?
