Black-Ops - if your predictions are anywhere near where the price of the stock may ascend to, then at age 71, for tax reasons it will never make good sense for me to sell. I will get hit with Federal long term capital gains tax and state tax. But, if I pass it on to my heirs, they get a step up in basis, so that their "cost basis" is what the price of the stock was on my date of death (or 6 months later). I won't even get to enjoy all that profit my under 80 cent basis got me. At least if they ever declare dividends, which will be years from now, I could live off of that and my Social Security. Think my kids will ever thank me?
