It will be quite some time
before Imperial produces any Scandium. I have been to their web site and read most all of it. A couple things stand out:
They have done a few drill holes and hit SOME high grade Sc ore. They need to do a lot more drilling to determine what they actually have and if developing this is financially feasible.
They are planning to do a PRELIMINARY feasibility study in 2021. Those of us that have been invested in Niocorp for a while realize that is just the first step with many steps to go.
This discovery is truly in the “middle of nowhere.” The only way to get there is by float plane or helicopter. That will probably limit how fast drilling can be done. In order to do any construction they will need to build roughly 100 miles of road through total wilderness and cross many lakes and rivers. Electricity and fuel will have to come much farther.
Their web site says the deposit is about 200 km from Shefferville, Quebec. What their web site does not mention is that there is no road to Shefferville. It is accessed by rail only.
