Elio did not have a chance. Although I liked the concept back when the price of gas looked to be going high, Elio did not have the chops to pull off the commercialization of the prototypes.

It is Very hard to start a car company without a LOT of money. Look at Tesla, billions where thrown at it before it produced the S model.

People have not idea of the money it takes to build a commercial car. Just a modern paint shop is over a BILLION dollars to build!
