Anyone ever interested in Anatabloc, anatabine-citrate, etc. might want to look at this:

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/akers-proposed-merger-partner-mymd-140000066.html

The mechanism of action for MYMD-1 involves regulating the production of TNF-a, offering the potential to reshape clinical guidelines and treatment approaches for a number of autoimmune diseases including diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis and multiple sclerosis, as well as aging, addiction and depression. MyMD has continued to leverage its foundational work in the area of programmed cell death and was previously issued US Pat. No. 10,517,856 B2, titled "Methods of altering programmed cell death and extending cell life," which showed the method of beneficially altering programmed cell death (or modulating programmed cell life) and how it may postpone the onset of various diseases, extend lifespan, and/or reverse the normal aging process in an individual.

The history of this work, including what was and is being done in collaboration with Johns Hopkins scientists, was associated with defunct companies Star Scientific, and Rock Creek Pharmaceuticals. Philip Morris ended up with a key patent, but it may be that the patent on the new molecule, MYMD-1, may obsolete what PM has.

The "scandal" involving Jonnie Williams when he was leading Star Scientific seemed to me to be purely political and intended to get Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell out of office. I don't think Williams or McDonnell did anything wrong, but the political extinction of Star Scientific and Bob McDonnell worked very well. Many people benefiting from Anatabloc were hurt by this.
