I believe the day will come when we will be able to produce huge amounts of inexpensive electricity without boiling water, killing killing our flying endangered birds, or consuming large amount of water in solar farms.

The best methods we have not are hydroelectric, and nuclear. Both are inexpensive and safe. Eventually we will have best known nuclear power -- fusion, maybe in another generation or two. It is very safe and efficient.

In the meantime, coal will remain a vital source of energy on this planet, even if places like the USA runs away from it for more expensive options.
