Bontex makes it easy to walk a mile in their shoes. Formerly Georgia Bonded Fibers, Bontex makes fiberboard products for the footwear, headwear, luggage, and automotive industries. In addition to its fiberboard cushion insole materials for footwear, Bontex also distributes a polyurethane material with moisture transmission characteristics for use in sock linings and insoles. The company touts its fiberboard products, which it makes from recycled and primary cellulose fibers, as being environmentally friendly. Bontex is controlled by the families of Dolores Kostelni (wife of chairman James Kostelni) and former director Patricia Surmonte Tischio, whose late father, Hugo Surmonte, founded the company.
