Apparently not so I'll inform you. The annual flu vaccine is a blend of the top three flu viruses present around the world from the many viruses out there right now. God if we only had a test for flu.......
They formulate the vaccine against these three virus and the formulation changes every year. Therefore the efficacy will vary year to year. If someone gets the flu after getting the shot it was most likely one of the other many viruses out there. So now you know.
BTW the covid virus is just one virus type so yes they probably should not be compared since you would be comparing one virus vs many viruses. On the other hand a vaccine is a vaccine is a vaccine....doesn't really matter what it vaccinates against. to qualify as a vaccine so there is that.
