Pa. bans alcohol sales on eve of Thanksgiving, places new orders on schools; keeps eye on ‘fragile’ economy
(Yes, lets kill one of the biggest revenue days for big and small retailers. And this will help with the virus surge?! Petty tyrants. Every last blue governor.)
Meanwhile, COVID-19 hospitalizations have jumped dramatically statewide and in Allegheny County.

Worried that increases in COVID-19 cases could overwhelm health systems, Gov. Tom Wolf and Health Secretary Dr. Rachel Levine on Monday announced a series of moves, including a stay-at-home advisory and an order suspending alcohol sales on Thanksgiving eve.
Saying the orders and advisories were among a host of “bad choices” to get the state’s surge of COVID-19 cases under control, Mr. Wolf said he was not considering a statewide lockdown like he enacted last spring because of the shaky condition of the state’s economy.
“We’re trying to balance the needs of a very fragile economy with the need for all of us to keep safe,” he said during Monday’s online press conference. “I want to do everything I can to keep from trashing our economy like we did back in March and April.”
