Then I went back to the contractor Lowes sent out and said now give me your cash price and we'll skip Lowes.

They do things different where you live.

Here that contractor would have had set price from the GC that subs for the box store and unable to do that.

Nothing wrong with doing cash as they are taxing us out of our homes.

No stewardship spending our taxes.

Just be sure you have a contract with the contractor so if something goes wrong you have way to go after him.

Once you pay rip it up and both of you walk away happy.

Make sure you go to your states site to check.

Labor & Industry is what they call it here to check on his insurance, bond, license.

I tell people that has nothing to do with their ability but it protects you the homeowner to go after him.

I did work for this couple few months back that even though the GC was all good with license etc that going after him is costing them time, lawyer $$$, stress, oh man if you saw this hacks work you'd be amazed anyone can be that bad.

I wrote up a statement for court for them and gave my name and all that to their lawyer just drives me nuts to see GC's do this to people.

We have an unbelievable amount of contractors in this state who should be out of business.

Every month I'm repairing their work so the homeowner is not only paying twice their home life is being disrupted twice.

No one likes strangers in their home and then to have to go through it twice it sucks.

Most of my clients work from home now also so their is the noise factor to with their zoom meetings.
