I think you may be referring to this House vote on federal legalization of MJ scheduled for December, which should happen if there is no government shutdown:

Unfortunately, with the current Senate controlled by Repubs and Mitch at the helm, there is a virtually 0% chance this will ever be allowed to hit the floor for a vote there

So if the House does pass MJ Legalization in December, it would be a largely symbolic catalyst — it certainly could elicit a reaction from the market, but like we’ve seen with the election reaction, I wouldn’t expect it to be sustainable

I’m in this for the sustainable catalysts, which thus far have all been launch catalysts or like we saw in Canada when Constellation Brands took a 10% stake in Canopy growth in late Oct 2017, a spontaneous catalyst which legitimizes the “safety” of investing in some form of cannabis — this type of spontaneous catalyst seems more likely to occur in the Hemp-CBD space, particularly after the FDA releases their CBD Enforcement Discretion policy, rather than the MJ space, which is further away from any form of federally permissible national sales

There is still a chance that Dems can win control of the Senate in the Georgia runoff elections, and if so, then the Senate passing MJ Legalization becomes a real possibility
