Ok, this probably is not a real good time to ask this question but what the heck...

Would somebody please explain to me why these guys had to play the same teams for 7 games (I think it was 7, not sure). Why not play one game and let the winner take all...like in football.

I mean, isn't it bad enough that each game is a dreadful 9 innings. The most exciting part of the game and the thing that requires the most effort is the fist fighting. Most of the time everybody is just kind of standing around looking at each other...no action. And then, to have to sit there and watch the same group of boring guys do nothing for 7 straight days...I don't get it.

What is the point of playing the same team, over and over again.
