This is a very old company and the FDA has had a vendetta against Ampligen under the tenure of Dr. Carter. He was forced out maybe 5 years ago, but the FDA came back and wanted another trial, which would be great if we could pay for it. Since then there has been huge interest in using Ampligen to enhance immunotherapy cancer treatments, we’re even partnered with a company that’s paying for the trial. There was a lot of hype around a treatment for corona that allowed us to raise some money. But in a nutshell, this is still risky and under the radar of many institutions, plus chronic fatigue syndrome itself is still somewhat of a controversial diagnosis and a small population. But I’ve been here for 6 years and I know someone who has worked on the trials since the early 90’s (yes Ampligen has been trying to get approval for that long) and I believe in the drug.
