I am a chartist. I read the long term chart(s) and purchase accordingly to my personal interpretations.

I pay some, but very little attention to news, good or bad to avoid getting whipsawed emotionally.

I only invest / bet long term.

Using this (my learned) method, I have lost on some stocks but I have made money on others. But over the long run, I have been able to make much more that I've lost.

I am not in the market to live off the earnings, but I am in for the educational aspect of "learning how to make the stock market make money for me" using a capital gains strategy. (Hint).

I also believe (but cannot prove) of the many claimed tricks and games that insiders, managers, News firm(s), CEO's and market makers are alleged to be performing. (Makes me no difference).

This is why I chose to be a chartist. In most cases I approach each stock I am interested in with a study of both actual and contrarian view points. And I do not put too much focus on the daily or weekly volumes, let alone the technical statuses touted by many.

My beliefs for investing / betting in our markets is;

LEAD, FOLLOW OR GET OUT OF THE WAY!

I lead myself to learn an angle in this game that works best for me by not following the herd ;)

Hence; I win and lose by my own choices. I own it!
