IMHO ...Vertical integration which strategically would be a genius move but also known to be notoriously difficult to implement (successfully) and when it turns out to be the wrong strategy —costly to fix. Which would explain the reluctance to merge right away bc let’s face it we don’t need any more expenses. Again just my opinion.
