Igen was asked by USAA to find out why so many teenage drivers were dying. This caused the development of our tech. It has been in development since 2009.

Most people have privacy concerns with these technologies because oftentimes it requires your phone to track you. Igen uses hardware that plugs directly into the car, so it alleviates that concern. Igen is nice because the person who has it installed on their car, can do so independently without going through their insurance company, if that's what they wanted to do. They then can download software on their computer/phone to monitor their asset. They have the ability to know when the car is turned on, limit the speed of the vehicle (for example they have a teenage driver, or they dropped the vehicle off to the mechanic), remotely turn the engine off, and view critical information about the car/engine and how it is running. There is more but that gives an idea.

In short, no we did not buy our tech from anyone else. The actual units are outsourced but the software was developed here. In fact I believe Mark Wells (if that's the wrong name someone correct me) is the head of the company we outsourced from for the physical part, and he is on Igen team as well. So we get a % discount on every unit we purchase to sell. Igen as a company is about more than just the technology.

It seems they have plans to be more than just a seller/distributor of the product. Some here have posted about hidden webpages on their site, and some have gone as far to say they believe Igen is preparing to be the next AAA type roadside service. They would be able to know your location right away, and also know some of the information about what may be wrong with the car if it is still running.

Pretty exciting!
I am happy to be a part of this for a few reasons.
