Remember it is the humans, particularly in the USA, who have cleaned up rivers, lakes, and the air. It is humans who have taken the responsibility of cleaning up the messes of the past generations. It is the humans are become the scientists who effectively find good clean methods of exploiting our coal and other carbon based resources. And, yes, it is the human scientists, who also accept the fact that humans, like coal and oil, are carbon based units. All plants are close to 100% carbon and water. All humans are mostly carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen (the same as plants). These elements are basic building blocks of all life on earth, and the scope of study of the world of organic chemistry.
