Just because a publicly-traded company has to reveal more information than a privatised one, doesn't automatically make them frontrunners.

If read carefully, I did state "by all known metrics." That would include the exception you listed. But I also know that if anyone is winning a competition, they don't keep it a secret long. It is human nature to announce you are the one to be knocked off the top of the mountain.
