The number of people testing positive for COVID-19 in Livingston County has hit an all-time 30-day average high as the fall surge continues.
The spread of the virus in the county has never been greater, local officials said.
"The increase in cases is likely due to continued community transmission and small group gatherings among adults," Livingston County Health Department spokeswoman Natasha Radke said in a Friday release.
On Tuesday, 68 people were newly diagnosed with the virus, a single day high since the pandemic began in Michigan in March. The county has seen a total of 2,106 cases.
