Some of my favorites from 2006:
Balletto (2005) pinot noir from the Russian River Valley in Sonoma, Ca., was excellent at ~20.00.
Barbera D’Alba (2004) La Loggia, Italy, was excellent at ~$10.00
Marietta Cellars, an old vine red blend (bin 41) from Geyserville, Ca., was excellent at ~18.00 Google on their web site.
Markham (2003) sauvignon blanc, Ca., was excellent at a special sale $10.00
The new Origin series from France has featured wines from around the world at the most excellent introductory price of $5.50 at Albertson’s in Ca. The sauvignon blanc from South Africa has become one of my favorites. I expect prices will rise soon.
The Sideshow series from Australia has been a great deal. It consists of various blends priced at a remarkable introductory price of $4.50 at Albertson’s in California.
