Mantis - thank you very much for sharing. It sounds like a kid, as I would imagine most kids, you were somewhat oblivious to surroundings and history. Your history class must have been very interesting or not if they didn’t teach real history.

With that said, it sounds like your oblivion wore off pretty quickly as u turned to your mid to late teenage years. Like China, it must be scary to wake up every day and not know if u may have pissed off the wrong person. It is sad that communist countries are border line dictatorships.

That is awesome to hear about Siberia. I can relate to your story and now looking back how u survived some of the things teenage/young adults do.

Sorry, just curious, last question. Why the poor America outlook before you knew the truth? Do they brainwash everyone (not that u were brainwashed)?
