Or one million shares after the RS. That may look more appealing to investors since they hate large numbers of dilution regardless of the Math. The majority of investors’ brain is not wired for Math or they don’t understand it. So, if you tell somebody that the company diluted one million shares @ $0.5 they don’t make a big deal out of it. But, if you dare to tell them that they sold a whopping 500 million shares @ 0.001, they will freak out. Although the amount of money is the same for both. Our brain is wired to automatically think that 500 mil is a lot, but the brain has no attention to the 0.001 or $0.5 for that matter.

Some people use the numbers to project negativity. For example, you say that the OS is now sitting at 5 billion shares and that is scary. After the RS, the OS will be at 10 million shares. Nobody is going to even pay attention to the low OS. So nobody is going to write OMG, their OS is so huge at 10 million. This is called the power of numbers.
