I would perhaps even say: "It is necessary to err today if you aim to have insight tomorrow."

This is a complete reversal of the sentence, and I don't know about other languages, but it has a substantially different meaning in English.

IMO, OT usually happens when there is nothing else useful to talk about. Like the last week of December. There is no news worth digesting, no analyst comments with probing, no earnings releases worth discussing, no changes in the environment worth considering. So a little OT won't hurt anyone.

The problem arises if some people reduce the signal to noise ratio during periods when news is happening. Then you would like them to take their OT elsewhere. I'd like to think our thread is mature enough to know the difference. wink
