On a typical year, we see 30 (bad) to 50ish (good) percent effectiveness of the flu shot. Not great effectiveness. But consider if 70% of the population gets immunized, that is a LOT of cases prevented. And as of right now, it is the only real intervention we have. If B is is efficacious as a treatment and prophylactic for influenza, the sky is the limit
