as far as the move to grey at otcm, it's automatic. grey market is not because of the sec, it is because of finra rules. o.k., follow along. part of the sec suspension was an order to market makers that they could not make a market for the 10 day duration of the suspension. now, jump to finra. finra rules say that once there are no market maker quotes for a period of four consecutive days, the form 211 that mm's have been using to make a market becomes invalid. not having a valid form 211 means grey sheets.
