You paid $17 a gram??? Holy crap. Where the heck do you live?
Concentrates are great. I get around 1.8-2g per 7g of nuggs running butane. But I like variety. My favourite for flower is my Arizer solo. 1/8th of a gram gets me whacked every time. Vape pens are ok, but I find I have to clean the coils a lot because I'm old and I don't like smoking tar anymore.
If they can keep wax and shatter etc below $40 a gram there is a chance. BUT, being in Canada I know from years of experience that the government will continuously raise taxes and make things stupid expensive.
Incidentally, I have looked in to growing, but to do it legally you have to go through more agencies and inspectors than you would believe. For seeds you have to either buy them legally from a corporation or gov't entity, or get import permits which requires disclosure from the originating source and things become an incredible pain in the ass. Trust me, Canada has done everything it can to make sure only the rich get to cash in on this.
It really is disappointing how they rolled this out.
