Ratna1, Unless someone has inside access to WH communications, there’s no hard evidence that Trump knows about rlf-100. But, the circumstantial evidence is very strong that he does know. Here are some reasons that he knows:
- Trump’s re-election hinges largely on the recovery of the nation, or at least it’s morale and optimism surrounding imminent recovery.
- Unless the virus miraculously disappears on it’s own over the next few weeks, the only near-term chance we have at a real change in morale concerning the virus is therapeutics, given that it’s become an increasingly difficult sell that there will be a safe & effective vaccine readily available in the next few months.
- IMO, it would be very naive to think that the White House isn’t keeping a very close eye on the top 5 or 10 treatments that can turn the fear level for this virus down from an 8 to a 4 (flu-level-fear).
- There are a VERY small number of therapeutics that (1) are safe, (2) have been shown to be effective, and (3) can potentially be ready within the next two months. Here are the only four that I know of that might fit:
RLF-100
Lenzilumab (Humanigen)
Bucilamine (Revive)
Leronlimab (CytoDyn)
- RLF-100 is the only of the four, to my knowledge, to have filed for EUA
- We know Javitt and the whole NeuroRx team are well-connected-- too much to list here-- and one of those connections is Maryland Congressman and Doctor, Andy Harris, who is on the DMC for RLF-100 (so he has an intimate knowledge of the safety and efficacy). Harris is a known ally and friend of Trump.
- RLF-100 is already being looked at by NIH and BARDA
- RLF-100 arguably has the most proven safety record of any of the therapeutics
- Out of all therapeutics and vaccines, presently available and "coming out soon", RLF-100 arguably has the most “miraculous” effect on patients with Covid-19
- RLF-100 arguably is the most ready to treat, having already signed 3 contracts to produce and ship 1 million courses of treatments.
In short, how could he NOT know? This is not an obscure drug that is very difficult to find, even if you do not have the resources and pandemic-fighting-incentives of the White House. I'd bet the majority of my retirement that the White House knows about RLF-100. In fact, I have.
