"The NYSE bell-ringing is a public relations event that the NYSE makes available to NYSE-listed companies, as well as certain charitable organizations with which they are affiliated. Companies will typically be able to ring the bell on the day of their Initial Public Offering on the NYSE, or to celebrate some major corporate event."
