Worst part about it when the moved him to quarantine 2 weeks ago his cell phone and wallet which he keeps in his pockets most of the time disappeared. Likely went to laundry and walked off. There are no phones in the quarantine rooms no one knew or knows where his phone is. I called numerous times to try and talk to him, they had a cordless phone they would walk down to the unit but it always lost signal. I only spoke to him once early last Week briefly then call dropped. I spoke with the rep daily for updates. Her last update yesterday morning was he was doing better had been up moving around on Saturday. Last night they called said he had taken turn and was on comfort care. My brother and I went to see him last night his eyes closed he didnt seem to know we were there except one time he moved his head when I asked if he could hear me. When we were leaving we spoke with the nurse aids that actually take care of him. They told me a different side than the lady I spoke with on the phone daily. They said he stopped eating on Thursday and has been too weak to get out of bed. Dying in a nursing home is bad enough before covid but being locked up with no outside contact makes it much worse. I think my dad came to the reality that they are never going to let him go out to eat, go look at all his rental properties or drive by his house or spend time with family. My brother never got to speak to him.
