I've been hearing speculation on buyout price all over the spectrum -- anything from $6/share up to $70+ said with a straight face.

I personally believe the line in the sand is $1.75b -- anything lower than that I think is likely to be rejected and the Board recommend continuing operations possibly with a partnership since automotive LiDAR will be ready demo Q1, but I don't think it will come to that. There is just too much going on with AR, automotive safety and autonomous vehicles for not to be adequate interest at an acceptable price.

Looking at other companies that have sold or been valued recently, it is pretty easy to imagine this selling for $3-5b which comes out to $21-35 before some likely dilution near the end of the year.

For reference:
Luminar valued at $3.4b+ -- they are showing auto LiDAR doing about 3.2m data points per second compared to MVIS at 20m pps.
Velodyne valued at 1.8b? LiDAR specs in the mid-2m pps range, and bigger/more expensive than the MVIS module
Occulus bought by Facebook for 2b
