But how can it be so simple for a felon, for which the evidence of his fresh crimes are mountainous, to buy himself literally months of extra time by supplying an excuse that a 3rd-grade teacher wouldn't accept as a reason the homework isn't on time?

Seriously, he just sort of says that doing the deposition (or whatever the legal term is for this sort of interview) at home is impossible, and that's that, he just gets another 4 months time to commit new crimes?

Makes me think I chose wrong in life to actually not steal from people. Looks like stealing millions is the short route to the beautiful wife, the mansion, and several sports cars.

Where's the downside to a life of crime and gluttonous excess if the authorities can be waved away so easily?
