Yes, number of shares matters

They might just give us shares at a 2 to 1 rate,
meaning 2 of ours for 1 of the new.
The rate could get worst since their stock is valued higher at the moment of the trade, like 4 to 1.

So its best to hold more to get more...

If it wasn't for everybody manipulating the market, there wouldn't be a stock market at all.
